  The Endangered Cheetah
This article tells us about the number of cheetahs in the world at a declining rate. Thus researchers at zoos and breeding centres have been constantly trying to boost the cheetah population by encouraging captive cats to breed. Thus, scientists have also come into help to help maintain the population.

Through this article, I found out that cheetahs are actually endangered and many kinds of community have come into help to preserve these magnificent beasts which are the fastest sprinters on Earth. I also found out that a captive cheetah differs from free-living cheetahs in terms of health. Captive cheetahs have poor breeding success and are more prone to diseases compared to a free-living cheetah. Researchers have also found out that free-living cheetahs are endangered primarily because their habitat is shrinking and because cheetah behaviour prevents the animals from thriving in game reserves. Also, by changing the way zoos manage the cats seems to have higher success rate of breeding. Thus, scientists are still looking into the matter and may have more ideas to prevent this species of getting extinct.

After reading this article, I’ve learnt that cheetahs are endangered and needs to be preserved so that it wouldn’t be extinct like some of the population such as Saber-Toothed Tiger, Mammoths and Dodo birds. Thus, to prevent more kinds of animals from getting extinct, scientists and researchers are doing their best to come up with solutions to preserve the species. I hope that they would find more solutions to this and prevent the extinction of such a magnificent beast. Also, I can’t wait to admire this beautiful and magnificent beast when I go to the zoo the next time.
