This article is tells us that Earth is melting faster. Most of Earth's glaciers have been shrinking for decades as our climate has been warming from natural causes and human activity. Not everywhere on earth is melting fast. At the higher topical areas, like mountain tops, they have been warming at three times the speed of increasing ground level. One example of melting glacier is one that sits on top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It has been melting steadily for nearly 100 years and has lost 84 percent of its ice. Scientists collects ice core from mountains before they melts. These ice core can tell them about the role that climate played in the rise and fall of cultures throughout history. Lonnie Thompson, a glaciologist, believes that the history preserved in the ice cores may also help foretell Earth’s future climate. For example, data from the glaciers offers clues as to how past temperature changes affected El Niños, the atmospheric-oceanic disturbances that hit the central West Pacific every few years.

I think that this article can tell people about how bad the world is warming at. Most of the warming is cause by human activities, and if we reduce these harmful human activities, the world will not warm at a faster speed, and the Earth can survive longer. This article also interests me a lot as I can understand more about what is happening on Earth.
