Think you can be a superhero? Think again.

Every kid, boy, girl, even adults know about Batman. Batman, the most down-to-earth superheroe among every other superheroes. He was not bitten by any radio-active spiders (Spiderman) or come from a distant world (Superman). Only his wits, money, physique and years of training protect him from the evil-doers in Gotham (eg: the Joker). Why his money helps is because it lets him build his Batmobiles, Batcables and other Bat-goodies, of course. I mean, have you seen his secret hide out? Can a person like Bruce Wayne could really exist? Professor E.Paul Zeher tells us.

Basically, Bruce Wayne could really exist in our world! The most plausible of all Batman’s skills is his martial arts background and physical prowess that is required to use some of his gear. To achieve that, one just has to train to that extreme. Something less realistic would have to be him fighting so many opponents at a time as when we estimate how fast someone can punch, kick and hit one person in a second, we only end up we numbers like 5 or 6. But to have that number to attack Batman or anybody else at a time is also difficult as they will get in the why of each other! Ever heard of “too many cooks spoil the broth”? of course the training takes time, to achieve Bruce Wayne’s ability the training needs at least 10 to 12 years.

But after all that training, one could have really dense bones and gain more muscles weight. A good thing is that your reaction speed will improve, somehow like your nervous systems improving to becoming more efficient. Of course, being Batman means you will never get enough sleep since you have to fight at night and work by day. Getting beaten up every night (even when he wins), will also make him more tired and injured.

So actually, when we calculate the percentage of billionaires and multiply that by the percentage of people who become Olympics decathletes, we could get a close estimate of just how many people can be Bruce Wayne. And it’s really just how big a range of performance and ability we can tap into.

I chose this article as once again everyone can relate to Batman since everyone knows who batman is! I believe that everyone when at a phase of their life wanted to be a superhero. Although Batman is more themed as a ‘darker’ superhero, he still is a superhero after all. It has been an interesting read as I always thought that being a real comic book superhero can only be part of our imagination. Who knew that real Batmen could exist? After this read, I also realized that I could never be Batman. Regardless of the fact that he is a guy, I CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT SLEEP! Once I am deprived of sleep, I get into a really bad mood and have serious cases of mood swings. Even the slightest of the slightest of things can set me off. I think that nobody would want a superhero who has bad mood or attitude right (Hancock??!!) ? Plus the fact that batman gets beaten every time! I will not willingly let somebody hit me!! So after reading this article, I really believe that being a superhero is hard work and takes a lot of guts. Maybe there will be somebody out there in the world who possess this kind of skills, money and heroism, but that somebody is definitely not me!
